Birthday Princess

Michelle had a wonderful birthday. She had a party at school with her friends, then dinner at her favorite Chinese restaurant and another party at home with us. She had so much fun. We love seeing our princess so happy.

Happy Birthday Michelle!

It's hard to believe that my "baby" is three today. Where is the time going? It seems like just yesterday she was a tiny baby who could only walk if we were holding her hands. How did she suddenly become such a big girl? She's grown and changed so much in the past year and a half. Below I've posted a recent picture and a picture from a year and a half ago to show how much she's grown.

As always on her birthday I have to stop for a moment and think of Michelle's birthmother. I always wonder if she's thinking about Michelle and wondering where she is. I wonder if she could ever have imagined that her little girl would be living in America and have a family who absolutely adores her. I always say a special prayer for her.

Michelle's Fun Day

This is the second time in a row my long post has disappeared. I'm getting very frustrated with Blogger.

Anyway, yesterday we had a mini-reunion with a couple of other families from our travel group. We all had a lot of fun and really enjoyed catching up. We were lucky to have one day with no rain so the girls were able to play outside and go swimming. They all enjoyed that a lot. Afterward, when we were changing the girls out of their swimsuits, they all decided it would be fun to run around nekkid. They ran around like that for a good half hour and it was absolutely hysterical. Finally they were ready to put some clothes back on to eat and play some more. The girls were all very sweet and played well together. Michelle had a great time and drove us home afterward (just kidding).

Michelle's First Vacation

I just typed out a long post which disappeared when I tried to publish it so here are a few pictures from Michelle's first vacation to Sanibel Island. I'll try to do a real post about the trip soon.

Easter Fun

I hope everyone had a happy Easter. We had a wonderful Easter! We took Michelle to San Antonio to spend the holiday with her grandparents and cousins. It was a short trip but we all had a wonderful time. We went to a barbecue at Roman's mom's house Saturday evening and Michelle had a great time running around and playing with her cousins. They had an Easter egg hunt, a pinata and cascarones. Michelle loved the cascarones. It was a lot of fun cracking eggs over people's heads and watching confetti come out.

Sunday we went to church with my parents and then to brunch at a beautiful restaurant on the banks of a river. It was really nice. Afterward, we went back to Nana's house for another Easter egg hunt and more cascarones. Michelle had such a good time. She ended up getting 5 Easter baskets filled with lots of toys and more candy than any of us could eat in a year. We left most of it behind but she definitely got a taste for candy. She's been asking for it ever since.

She was worn out by the end of the trip. Monday evening she fell asleep in the taxi on the way home and slept all the way through the night until Tuesday morning. We're so happy we were able to give her such a special weekend.
It's so much fun playing in Nana's backyard.

I'm not sure why I'm hitting this pinata but it's fun.
